WATCH
out! Electronic paper watches are IN!
The
new Seiko E Ink watch is definitely something to keep an eye out for –
The world’s first electronic paper watch!
“We aimed to develop a new
type of watch that has never existed before," said a company spokesperson.
The days of hard to read, rigid, overly heavy/chunky watches are OVER!
The watch’s display is made up of pure black and pure white particles
ensuring twice the contrast of an LCD panel.

It is much thinner than is possible with any conventional display technology,
analogue or digital. The display can also be flexible allowing for designs
never before achievable. The Seiko E Ink boasts a lower power consumption
rate allowing batteries to last longer.
For one of the first commercial uses of electronic paper technology, it’s
pretty cool. However, only 500 will initially be made and they’ll
be selling for £1000 or around $1700.
